At Arbour Academy we are committed to Safeguarding the welfare of all our students.
As with all schools we have a pastoral responsibility and are legally obliged to pass on concerns about child welfare to Children’s Services as per the Salford Safeguarding Children's partnership.
These combined Policies: Safeguarding, Child Protection and Safe Recruitment Vetting Policies are in place to protect children and young people on roll at Arbour Academy.
Arbour Academy is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children who are on our roll. Arbour Academy fully recognises the contribution it can make to protect children and support pupils in school and beyond.
All staff have a responsibility to provide a safe environment in which children can learn. All staff are trained in safeguarding procedures and are regularly briefed on any updates or amendments to current legislation
Any staff member who has a concern about a child’s welfare will report these to concerns to the Designated safeguarding lead or Deputy safeguarding lead. Identified Staff will then support social workers and other agencies following any referral.
Arbour Academy has a Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputy Safeguarding Lead who support staff to carry out their safeguarding duties. All staff are aware of the Child Protection Policy, Behaviour Policy, Code of Conduct, and Missing from Education procedures and the role of the DSL/DDSL. Arbour has a responsibility to report any safeguarding concerns about the welfare of a child to our safeguarding partners such as the Police or Children's Services. We will aim to discuss any concerns with you but this may not always be possible.
