At Arbour Academy, uniform is part of our high standards and helps learners feel that they belong to our school community. We ask learners to arrive in uniform each day, ready to take part in learning.
What to wear

| Skirt or Trousers | Plain black trousers, or knee-length skirts (skirts may be worn with or without tights) |
| Footwear | Black trainers or shoes |
Families do not need to buy branded uniform. Plain items that meet the colours and descriptions above can be purchased from a retailer of your choice.
Cost and second-hand uniform
We want uniform to be affordable and accessible. If you are finding it difficult to obtain any item, please contact the school office so we can discuss how to help. Please also contact the office for information about second-hand uniform and how to access any items currently available.
Individual needs
We recognise that a learner may need an adjustment to the uniform requirements because of a disability, sensory need, medical reason, religion or another individual circumstance. Please speak to us so that we can consider their needs and agree a suitable approach together.
Please note
Leggings and cycling shorts are not permitted.
Implementation of the uniform policy
If a learner arrives at school without the correct uniform, parents or carers may be contacted and asked to provide the appropriate items. We will take account of individual needs, any agreed reasonable adjustments and relevant provisions within the learner’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Where a learner is unwilling to wear the required uniform, staff will work with them and their parents or carers to understand any concerns and agree an appropriate way forward.
