Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care at Arbour Academy

At Arbour Academy, supporting our learners' emotional well-being is at the heart of everything we do. We understand that many of our students have experienced trauma, and we are committed to helping them develop the emotional awareness and coping strategies they need to thrive.

Our dedicated pastoral team provides continuous support, ensuring that students feel safe, understood, and empowered. From induction through to daily support, we take a proactive approach to emotional well-being.

Inclusion Manager: Sophie Booth

Our Inclusion Manager, Sophie Booth, is dedicated to ensuring that all students and families receive the support they need. If parents or carers require assistance with paperwork or need guidance, Sophie Booth and our team are here to help.

How We Support Our Students:

Immediate Support: Our pastoral staff are always available to help students manage feelings of anxiety or overwhelm.

Daily Guidance & Interventions: Learners benefit from one-to-one mentoring, small group sessions, and daily check-ins tailored to their needs.

Expertise in Trauma-Informed Care: Our learning mentors are trained in therapeutic approaches, trauma-informed practices, and mental health support.

Home & External Support: When needed, our team can conduct home visits to assist with attendance concerns and work closely with external agencies to provide the right support package for each learner.

At Arbour Academy, we believe that emotional well-being is the foundation of success. We are here to listen, support, and empower every student, every step of the way.
